the trap that wouldn't trap!

"I got a message about two kittens and their mom in someone’s yard. I told them I would help and brought traps two days ago. Mom and babies all went into the trap but didn’t trigger it!! Then, yesterday we went back with more sensitive traps and set them up. Later that night I got a call that the darker kitten had been caught and I headed back (45 min drive) to get him. He spent the night with me and this morning I woke up to a text saying mom and other baby were in the traps! I headed out as soon as I woke up and got them. Mom is totally feral so is getting fixed and vaccinated and then released back where she is from. The babies will be socialized and adopted hopefully"

the extremely hot attic...

"I Headed to Pasadena around 6pm and made it home at 11:30! We got a call about a feral mom and her 6 week old babies living in someone’s attic. They caught one baby when we got there and we gave it fluids and got it into a foster home. As we were arriving home we got a call that mom had been trapped! We headed back (45 minute drive) and got mom. We took her to our foster coordinator who will be gettin her spayed asap. This morning they caught another kitten. Unfortunately we don’t know how many kittens are in the attic so we will just have to keep trapping for a little bit. The attic is so hot and I've already spent so many hours crawling around in it!"

baby cypress & mom

On April 12, 2020 I was asked to take in a feral mom and her single baby. When I got a photo of them, I realized this was a serious situation. Mom looked extremely sick and they were being kept in rather filthy conditions. We picked up mom and baby and went to take them to the vet the next morning. As soon as we arrived at the vet, mom started declining and ended up passing away from being posioned (likely got into a rat-killer posion). Now I was left with a baby who needs to be bottle fed every 3 hours, and possibly is already sick. The community came together and all of the vet bills were paid for. Cypress had his ups and downs, required tube feeding, and incubator, etc... but eventually grew big and found his forever family!

the rescue of emily rose

Emily Rose was listed on the euthanasia 48-hours list at the West Los Angeles shelter for simply being nervous in the kennel. Having the same name, I immediately knew I needed to do something to save her. Reaching out to everyone I knew, I finally found someone who would foster her. Her foster mom took her in for around 1.5 years, until she needed to move and couldn't take her with. I worked with Angels With Me rescue and we were able to find her the perfect home. Although this rescue was over the span of around 2 years, it ended in the best possible way!

a kitten surprise

In March 2022, we got a call about a mom who had given birth to two kittens on someones porch. The mom was a calico who had one orange and one calico baby. They settled in well and the next morning I left the three of them in my kitten room to go run some errands. When I came back there were four kittens! Mom had not finished giving birth before she had been moved, so while I was out she had a white with black spots, and another orange kitty. In the end, the first pair of kittens went to a loving forever home, and I fell in love with the second pair and ended up adopting them.
